Demi Lovato is never shy about speaking up against unrealistic body expectations, photoshop, eating disorders and more, and this week she continued her crusade. 。

The 24-year-old singer recently came across fan art on Instagram depicting her as half-mermaid and critiqued the artists portrayal of her body. 。

"Is that how my boobs should look?," Lovato commented. "It's gorgeous but that's not my body," she added, according to screenshots from fans. 。

The 17-year old Romanian artist said in response to her comments, saying any negative impact was unintentional. "If I make your waist slimmer and your boobs bigger to accentuate the fact that I drew you as a mermaid, a mythological creature, doesn't mean I say that you should look like that or all girls should look like that. That's how I imagine mermaids," he wrote. "I worked a lot on that drawing and I was proud of it, but not anymore."。

Fans had mixed responses to her comments. Additionally, in a Yahoo interview released on Monday, Lovato also continued her comments on body image expectations—and seemed to be speaking about the celebrity squad of friends that often surrounds Taylor Swift. 。

"This will probably get me in trouble, but I don't see anybody in any sort of squad that has a normal body," she said. "It's kind of this false image of what people should look like." 。

Lovato tweeted in response to backlash from the comments on Tuesday morning, saying that while she didn't remember making the comments, words can be taken out of context and misunderstood.。
