Fox News commentator Bill O'Reilly, a man whose hairline and integrity have both greatly receded in the past decade, just messed with the wrong United States congresswoman.

On Tuesday morning, O'Reilly said that he couldn't listen to Congresswoman Maxine Waters' latest House speech about Trump because of her hair, which he called "a wig."

"I didn't hear a word she said. I was looking at the James Brown wig," O'Reilly said, to a chorus of laughter from the other white, predominantly male commentators in the room.

O'Reilly, of course, has no problem paying attention to the president, who appears to attach his hair onto his head every morning with velcro and hope.

Only one commentator, Ainsley Earhardt, sort of spoke up in defense of the Congresswoman.

""I've got to defend her on that," she said. "I have to defend her on that. She a — you can't go after a woman's looks."

Before, of course, she ruined it.

"I think she's very attractive!" she said.

"I didn't say she wasn't attractive!" O'Reilly said, making it worse.

The congresswoman's loyal fans, as well as people who were just genuinely outraged, immediately came to her defense on Twitter.

O'Reilly released this apology, which forgot the words "racist" and "sexist," later in the day.

UPDATE: March 28, 2017, 6:31 p.m. PTCongresswoman Maxine Waters responded to the incident Tuesday evening with a tweet that included the hashtag #BlackWomenAtWork. The hashtag also has many posts about veteran reporter April Ryan and the comments Press Secretary Sean Spicer made to her earlier Tuesday.
