There is a brand new kind of card coming with Journey to Un'Gorocalled Quest cards. These legendary cards require players to complete a certain task (or multiple tasks) to earn a card as a reward. The only Quest shown in the announcement was Awaken the Makers, which costs one mana and gives the astoundingly strong card Amara, Warden of Hope as its reward.

"Quests will give you access to some of the most powerful cards Hearthstonehas ever seen -- if you can complete them," Chayes said in the announcement.
Adapting minions
There is a brand new keyword for some new minion cards in Journey to Un'Gorocalled adapt. When a minion's adapt ability is triggered, the player can choose from three random buffs to give their minion a tailor-made advantage.
The only card with adapt shown was the Verdant Longneck, a five-mana 5/4 beast.

CARD ID: 172434
New elemental minions
Elementals have never had their own card type until Journey to Un'Goro. Chayes and Brode teased new elemental cards coming with the new expansion including a tar pit elemental and a new legendary Mage card, Pyros, which returns to your hand as a stronger card each time it dies until its final form:
CARD ID: 172439
With the new type elemental, a handful of older elemental cards will have their type changed to elemental to fit the new description.
A volcano!
In the middle of Un'Goro Crater sits an active volcano, so naturally there's a new spell card for Shaman called Volcano that rains indiscriminate fiery death upon all minions on the board.
Via GiphyThe new expansion also marks the retirement of last season's expansions and adventures, Blackrock Mountain, The Grand Tournamentand League of Explorers. Those cards will no longer be available for decks in Standard mode.
